Also known as "The Crown Prince of Reggae", Dennis Brown, has influenced many generations of reggae musicians. Bob Marley even mentioned him as his favourite singer.

Dennis Brown had his first hit with a cover of the Impressions' "No Man Is an Island" age 11 and went on to record over 75 albums.

Dennis Brown died on 1 July 1999. However, his legacy did not end there. In 2001, "The Dennis Emanuel Brown Trust" was set up to honour and advance his memory. On 6 August 2011, he was awarded the Order of Distinction by the Jamaican government for his contribution to reggae music.
